Pond Peak Day Hike. Desert Peak bag of the highest summit at 8,300 feet at the south end of the Pah Rah Range, west of Wadsworth. Trip is about 11 miles and has 2,500 feet of gain, half of it cross-country over rocky terrain. Not for the faint of heart. Expect to learn about birds and maybe wild mustang sightings. DL. Trip Limit: 8. Moderately strenuous.

Pasco Canyon Trail Project. Join Sierra Club and Friends of Nevada Wilderness along with the Austin-Tonopah Ranger District to clear brush in the Pasco Canyon and work on the trail located on the east side of the Alta Toquima Wilderness area. Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge Service Trip. Visit the S.N.W.R. in Nevada's remote northwestern corner. We'll do service work on Saturday with other conservation groups, under refuge supervision. Friday and Sunday are travel days with many interesting points to visit (TBD). Learn about the refuge's purpose, wildlife, flora, and management practices. Relay Peak West Wing Day Hike. Only small amounts of snow left, so we'll simply hike on-trail with boots. Largely following the TRT, we'll go over the Relay Peak summit at 10,330 ft., and out onto the "west wing's" big rocky knob for lunch. Great views of Lake Tahoe and west toward California.
