Lola Montez Dayhike. Learn about butterflies, birds, and yes, mosquitoes.
This hike sometimes involves a creek crossing that can be tricky. (water
footwear for the crossing is helpful). Great traditional adventure
finding the upper lake. Hike is about 7 miles with 1,000 ft. gain in
elevation. Swimming and sunbathing opportunities are excellent. ND.

High Beginner Mountain Bike Tahoe Group. This will be a high beginner bike for people who are in fairly good shape
and have been mountain biking. 15 miles and about 900’ elevation
gain. Some hills but nothing technical. We will ride around Boca Lake

Tahoe Meadows Interpretive Trail. Easy-paced outing geared for families
with young children or people who want a stroll. Hike will meander
along the interpretive trail in the meadows. Learn about the flora
and fauna that make up the ecosystem in this area. About 2-3 miles,

Jamison Lake Dayhike. Great hike from Jamison mine area to Jamison Lake.
Learn about historical mining activities. Hike is about 6 miles and

July 8th (Saturday)
Bear Lakes Loop Family Day Hike. This hike is geared more towards
families with children or for those who wish to take it easy. There
will be a discussion on the principals of leave no trace. We will visit
five lakes along the way, so bring your swim trunks for some great
swimming after lunch! Easy hike, 3 miles, 340 elevation gain.

Smoldering Woman/Playa By Moonlight. Enjoy the playa of the Black Rock
Desert by the almost full moon.
We'll arrive on the playa around 5-5:30 when it is cooling down and have some
refreshments and potluck supper.
Then we can hike or bike on the moonlight playa and also enjoy a campfire. Musical
instruments, families and dogs are welcome. We will depart by 10 or so the next
morning, before it gets too hot, and possibly visit a nearby hot spring.

Moonlight in North Reno. See northern Reno in moonlight from BLM land.
Hike will be 3-4 miles, 500 ft. gain in elevation. Learn about local

Ophir Creek Conditioning Hike. Steady and steep 3 mile trek up to large
flat boulder field, 800 ft. gain. Hike for 2 hours. Bring water, boots,
and windbreaker. Meet at Davis Creek Campground. Take 395 South to
Bowers Mansion turnoff. Turn right. Proceed one mile to Davis Creek
Campground and turn right. Trailhead starts at the last parking lot

Middle Velma Lake Dayhike. This is a tougher hike from Bayview Trailhead.
Great views of Lake Tahoe from the trail, but very steep. Learn about
glacial runoff, a mere blink of an eye in geological time. Hike is
12 miles and 2,000 ft. elevation gain. Trip limit of 12 by permit in

Shirley Canyon Wildflower Hike. Visit Squaw Valley as we follow Squaw Creek
up the canyon and see great wildflowers
before arriving at Shirley Lake We climb about 1500 feet over 6
miles. The hike starts at 9:30AM and will return in late afternoon. Leader:

Black Rock Leave No Trace Training Event. The Wild Tour proudly presents
this years Leave No Trace "Train the Trainers" backpack.
This year's event will be held high in the cool picturesque aspen groves
of the North Black Range. Brian Murdock, the LNT master trainer will
be our instructor. Participants are responsible for own gear, water,
and food. High clearance vehicles with good tires and a good spare
are a must. Car pooling will be available (gas money for drivers).
Hike will be 4-6 miles with 800-1,500 ft. gain. Place call ASAP so
we can send your LNT workbook before the trip. (No cost for workbook).

Ophir Creek Dayhike. This is a strenuous 12 miles, close to 4,000 ft.
gain, dayhike in the Carson Range. We will start in Washoe Valley and
go to the Tahoe Meadows, where we'll have lunch and then return. The
descent is very steep. We'll go by upper and lower Price Lakes to observe
the recuperation of the flora since the famous land slide in 1983.
Must bring at least one quart of water. We will have an early start

hike to Round Top Lake 5-6 miles with 1,000 ft. gain. Trip limit 12.

Lake Paddle, Fallen Leaf Lake. This is a Class I paddle near the town of South
Lake Tahoe. We can skirt the shoreline. Must be able to paddle all day at

Ice-Skating, Swimming, and Dinner. Ice Skating and swimming in Squaw
Valley. Skate outdoors in Olympic-size rink in Squaw Valley and swimming
in pool and giant jacuzzi. Temperature around 80 degrees at high camp
(8,200 ft. elevation). Meet at High Camp Ice Rink at 2 PM or meet to
carpool at McDonald's parking lot near Safeway at MaeAnn and McCarren
in Reno at 12:15 PM. At 6 PM group will leave Squaw Valley for dinner

Tinker's Knob Dayhike. This is a sixteen mile roundtrip hike with 1,400
