Loch Leven lakes snowshoe. Fairly difficult trip rewards you with scenery and solitude. Winter excursions to the three lakes are uncrowded and provide stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Calico Moutains wilderness hike. Join the Wild Places Tour as it stops at this Black Rock NCA wilderness area. The Calico Mountains are multi-hued mountain range with great views of the Black Rock region. Bighorn sheep abound within the range. Will discuss wilderness in Pershing County. Fast pace. Meiss Lake snowshoe. This trip offers a variety of stunning scenery for intermediate snowshoers. Enjoy the views of the high craggy peaks surrounding Carson Pass as we trek through the upper Truckee River valley. Once in Meiss Meadows the terrain is fairly flat, but there are steep sections in and out of the valley.
